Bat Masterson (born William Barclay Masterson, Nov. 26, 1853, Henryville, Quebec–d. Oct. 25, 1921, New York City, NY) moved to the Grait Plains as a teen to hunt buffalo. Texas gunfighter John Wesley Hardin killed his first victim at the age of 15 in 1868. After committing numerous additional murders, often related to drinking and gambling, he was convicted of murder in 1877 and served 15 years' time in Huntsville.
